One of the heavier shoes on test, but still a fair bit down on a good boot, and it didn’t feel at all clumsy, so loses no marks. It is very stable and offers plenty of support, both in the upper, which is a split-leather/Cordura blend, and in the midsole, which seems to flex perfectly both front to back and laterally across the foot. The fit is quite shaped so it grips the foot well without lacing, although the lacing enables a really stable fit with no toe bang on descent. They are well-padded so feel great from the box and need little in the way of breaking-in. The Gore-Tex XCR lining did its job well.
