These fabric boots from Viking have a reasonably neutral fit and stacks of padding on the heel and ankle cuff, making them feel great out of the box. However, less padding around the tongue means careful lacing is necessary when out on the hill. With a fairly flexible midsole and predominantly fabric upper, these are best suited to low-level walks on good, soft surfaces. They feel light and reasonably cool and will certainly do a job for the money.
Verdict: If you do most of your walking on good surfaces, then the Vikings won’t let you down, and at a good price. Not really tough enough for the real rough-stuff though.
