The Timberland Trailscape is a low-cut shoe has a breathable mesh upper, making it ideal for walking in warm weather far from any puddles. There is protection around the shoe with suede. The lacing is easy for children thanks to a quick-release drawcord design. But as this is a low-cut shoe it does not offer the ankle protection of a boot. Also there is no waterproof lining so this is not ideal for wet terrain. The sole is very bendy too, and offers minimal grip, so again it’s not the best for rocky hill-walks.

Use the Timberland Trailscape for valley walks and it is okay, but others offer better performance for children heading into the hills.
