These are a little wider than traditional Scarpa boots, with a medium-wide heel section. Padding throughout the boots is decent enough too, and will help accommodate those with bulkier feet. On the whole, the ZG65s are a medium-stiff shoe, and good for most general walking. They handled forest tracks and muddy hills with relative ease, and the medium-stiff sole gives decent support in most conditions, although it would be too soft for very challenging terrain. There is a better-than-average degree of support around the heel that softens nicely higher up with some decent ankle padding. The lace loops at the top of the boot slip easily and can make it difficult to establish a tight fit.
