What we like about this multi-activity shoe compared to some others in the Salomon range is that it has a more performance edge. Underfoot there’s good stiffness in the sole to take the pressure out of rocky paths. Also, you get fairly deep and aggressive lugs to keep a grip in the mud or when descending grass slopes. The toe is reasonably stiff too for better foot protection. The upper gets a waterproof lining behind the blend of leather and synthetic materials. The heel cup is supportive, too. Use this when biking, walking or trekking and it will offer much of what many walkers will be looking for.
This is a general-purpose shoe, so it lacks the lightness, the added durability and the scrambling ability of others. You don’t get a rubber rand or precise lacing at the toe either. So, if you don’t want a general-purpose shoe, others are better. For the price, some others offer a little bit more performance too.

Verdict: Buy this if you want a general outdoor shoe that is truly multi-activity rather than a shoe that is master of a particular activity.
