A sporty-looking shoe with soft and lightweight mesh uppers. They’re flexible and comfortable and the lacing system ensures a decent fit across the foot, although they feel rather sloppy at the heel, so tight lacing called for. Decent lateral stiffness means they protect your feet on rough terrain, and a bellows tongue and Gore-Tex lining will keep your feet dry and comfortable. Merrell’s QForm cushioning midsole and air cushion in the heel absorb shock and provide stability. They’ve got a close-knit tread pattern which grips better on hard ground than soft mud, and there’s plenty of reinforcement at the toe.
