The Meindl Magic Junior Mid feels quite substantial and has good stiffness throughout to provide support and protection on rough terrain. Rubber at the toe box and heel add a little extra durability too. Underfoot there is a reasonably grippy lug pattern for mud. But this has quite a low ankle cuff, so it’s not ideal for rough terrain. Some boots have a slightly stiffer and more aggressive sole unit for rockier terrain too. There is no waterproof lining, so it may leak.

The Meindl Magic Junior Mid is a low-cut boot, ideal for valley paths. But it is not waterproof and others are better for rougher or muddier terrain.
