Lowa Stirling GTX 2009

The Lowa Stirling GTX has a Gore-Tex waterproof lining; full leather upper with minimal stitching for durability; full rubber rand for durability; very stiff toe box to protect feet from rocks; stiff Vibram sole ideal for rocky ground; reasonable lugs for general traction. But quite heavy at 1912g (pair, size 11); the lug pattern on some boots is a little better for tackling muddy ground.

Verdict: The Lowa Stirling GTX is superb if you want durability and dry feet when tackling almost anything, but others are lighter.
