At £110 these boots are an absolute snip. They are low-cut boots, which perhaps suggests that they’d be best for easier walking; but they are no lightweight with a good firm midsole that really puts them in the all-rounder bracket. They are a very traditional looking boot, which will suit some; and the leather uppers look great and repel water wonderfully, though with no protective rand, they’ll scuff easily. The last is pretty neutral so they’ll work for most walkers, but the lacing isn’t particularly effective so it takes some fiddling to get a really secure fit. The Mer-Tex lining kept water out and the Vibram sole provided plenty of traction and shed mud well too.
