Keen Targhee Low 2010

The Keen Targhee Low is a well-proven shoe with the particularly spacious forefoot area that can be experienced with all Keen footwear. The sole rubber wraps around the toe box too, which ensures that the toe and sole are very durable in this area as there are no seams to part with wear and tear. Behind the leather and fabric upper there is a waterproof lining and a good amount of stiffness, which ensures that this shoe is very protective of the foot. The lace loops benefit from reflective trim, for a little extra safety at night too. Underfoot you get excellent cushioning and stiffness, plus deep multi-directional lugs to provide grip in the mud. This feels great for walking and trekking over quite rough terrain. But some people with narrow feet may not like the wide forefoot as their foot may have too much space inside that cavernous toe box. It is a little clumpier than some others, so it’s not ideal for fast action or scrambling. The heel breast is quite shallow and the downhill braking power is not ideal due to this in part. There are lighter options too.
