This 3-season model is Karrimor’s best-selling boot. It’s built around 2.4mm full grain leather, which is top quality leather so ideal for a hard day in the hills. Inside there is an eVent waterproof lining to guarantee dry feet,But like all the best boots there is really minimal chance of the leather leaking anyway as it is not riddled with stitching. The toe box is reasonably stiff too to protect the feet on rocky ground. Underfoot it is the classic Vibram dual density Bi-Feder unit that has been well proven to be ideal for general hill-walking. The is good stiffness in this boot to protect the feet from the terrain, but it is also flexible enough to allow a very easy walking action, making it a good option for general valley, hill, moor and mountain walking. At £90 it is a bargain for a waterproof boot of its quality. But a higher price will bring more comfort as well as a stiffer sole flex, a stiff heel cup and a stiffer upper in general, which would all be useful if you are heading for the roughest high mountain paths. A higher price would also bring a rubber rand to protect the upper a little more on scree and rock. Although an eVent waterproof lining is as good as any other, you’ll still feel less sweaty in an unlined boot.
