These multi-activity shoes from Hi-Tec have a fairly flexible midsole and padded upper that makes them feel snug straight from the box. The rolling motion of the sole unit feels a little odd at first, but works well once you get used to it. They are quite a high cut, which will suit some, but can be a little harsh against your ankles at first. This is a tough and rugged shoe that provides good grip and shock absorption over most ground. Their softness and flexibility means they feel most at home on more even terrain, and the waterproofing system works well to keep water out. However, the extra padding makes them feel a little sweaty compared to some.
Verdict: Soft, comfortable and waterproof, these are well-suited for low-level terrain. The sole gives good shock absorption and the effective lacing system makes them suitable for all foot shapes. Well priced, too.
