This is an incredibly functional multi-activity shoe that offers much more than the price or brand name might suggest. The upper is synthetic and leather with double lines of stitching throughout, which will add valuable durability when this rubs up against rock and scree. There is also a solid toe box that protects the foot really well. The heel is stiff and supportive too. Underfoot you get a good cushioning and a Vibram sole unit that is very aggressive. Inside the shoe there is a D-Tech waterproof lining. This is a great shoe that is ideal for biking and walking over rough and rocky terrain, while the narrow toe profile should also make it ideal for scrambling and approaching climbing crags. The shoe is a women’s-only model and while there is a hint of purple it does not shout ‘girly’ too loudly! But it may feel too stiff initially from the box, though that will soften with use. The waterproof lining may not be as breathable as an eVent or Gore-Tex XCR lining, but that is why this shoe is £15 lower in price than its Gore equivalents.
