With sizing that comes up on the small side, these definitely need a good try before you buy. But while they’re short at the toe, there’s plenty of breadth in them, so don’t be put off if you’ve got wide feet. There’s more mesh in the uppers on these than in most women’s boots – this means they will perform at their best in warm conditions, and are worth a look for walkers with sweaty feet. However, they do a really good job of keeping out water – watch out for deep puddles, though: the low ankle cuff will let water in surprisingly quickly. They’ve got a good chunky rubber sole, which offers plenty of grip, especially on rock, and there’s enough midsole stiffness to cope with uneven terrain.
