The 3-season Trailmaster builds on the success and performance of the Brasher Hillmaster, the UK’s most popular walking boot, by being a little more aggressive in its design. The upper is thick nubuck leather with minimal stitching to ensure it is water-resistant as well as durable. A Gore-Tex lining makes the boot waterproof. This upper is a little stiffer than the Hillmaster, making it better suited to rough mountain terrain. You get a very stiff toe box too and a stiff heel cup, which are both ideal for rough terrain. Underfoot you get a very aggressive sole unit with good stiffness to make rocky paths comfortable. Inside there is a leather lining. All in all this is ideal for general hill and mountain walking or backpacking over most types of terrain. But this boot has a relatively low ankle cuff and so when compared to some other boots, this is perhaps not quite as supportive, so others are better on really rough scree and loose rock. However those sticking to easier hill paths and moorland will find Trailmaster ideal. Like all Gore-Tex lined boots this will be hotter than unlined equivalent designs.
