These three-season boots from Boreal use a very small sizing, meaning you might have to wear thinner socks than usual with them. However, with a few miles under the belt, they actually feel comfortable and also very supportive, with just the right amount of padding and an effective, easy-to-use lacing system. Light weight and a reasonably flexible midsole make the Namib feel really great on easier going, yet it’s just about tough enough to handle a bit of rougher stuff too. The toe and heel boxes are well reinforced and the hefty 2.8mm nubuck upper takes scuffs and knocks in its stride. The Dry-line waterproof membrane keeps your feet dry, but does feel warm.
Verdict: A versatile and agile leather boot that’s ideal for mid-level country walks, yet will handle a little rough stuff too. It’s also a great price, but check the sizing before parting with your cash.
