The Berghaus Raid Junior is a well-established boot that remains unchanged again this year in terms of design and price. The fabric and suede upper hides a waterproof ling. The upper feels quite durable too and seems able to offer good protection for a young, growing foot, while the outsole is Vibram branded. But the Vibram sole has shallow lugs, so it is not as good as those with deeper lugs on mud. Shallow lugs may also wear down sooner than deeper lugs. The Berghaus Raid Junior’s sole is very flexible, too, meaning it won’t provide as much protection as stiffer soles on rock.

The Berghaus Raid Junior is a good walking boot that performs better on easier valley terrain than on more challenging ground.
