What sets this sandal apart from much of the competition is the combination of great features, rather than just a single detail. So you get synthetic straps, which will dry quickly, making this suitable for water sports and river crossings. The straps can be adjusted in three places through a mix of Velcro and buckles, and these are all padded to make sure you get a comfortable and close fit. The sole unit is a Vibram model that is precurved to allow a very natural walking action. There is good cushioning too to take the strain out of rocky paths, while the stiffness in the sole is ideal for walking along quite uneven paths. Look underneath and you get a very aggressive lug pattern that looks set to keep you moving over anything that you would expect a sandal to take you. This is a great all-round sandal that should be ideal for a wide variety of users. But you do get a little more cushioning with some sandals, while others are a bit more comfortable. The style may not be to everyone’s liking, and of course other sandals are lower in price. But for general walking and travel I don’t think these niggles will really deter from the performance. In short, there is not a lot wrong here.
