Kovea is a new brand to the UK, offering a range of specialist lightweight backpacking stoves. The Supalite Titanium weighs in at just 57g and when that weight is combined with a price tag of just £35 this is an exceptional stove for travelling light on a budget. For the weight it has relatively wide pan supports too as they fold out to 12cm, which is 1cm bigger than some other similar lightweight stoves and means that a small pan is a little safer when balanced on top and bubbling away. The burner diameter is smaller than other lightweights though at just 3cm compared to 5cm or 7cm for some stoves, so it tends to provide a localised hot spot on a pan rather than a broad flame. There is no piezo ignition but I do like how the flame control knob has a very smooth operation. Also the pan supports and flame control knob fold down very neatly to make this a compact burner. The performance is similar to other burners of this type; and while burners with remote gas cartridges and wider pan supports offer better performance, if you want to save weight and cash then the Kovea Supalite Titanium at 57g and £35 is one of the better direct screw-on burners for backpackers.

Kovea is a new brand to the UK that’s well worth watching closely as the Supalite Titanium is a great lightweight backpacking stove.
