The Extremities Nova Gaiter is a well-proven design made of Gore-Tex fabric with extra reinforcement around the ankle for added durability. Unlike many gaiters featured here, on this one you get a front zip and Velcro closure with press studs at the top and bottom. For me I find this slightly easier to fit than the Velcro-only designs, but I know many people do like the non-zip version too. The main problem with this gaiter is the press stud at the top, though, as it sat directly on my knee and felt very uncomfortable if I knelt down. These are longer than many gaiters too, and although they were fine for me I can see that some walkers with shorter legs may find they are too long. The other features of the gaiter are all pretty good though. There is a drawcord closure behind the knee, and this is comfortable. You get a lace hook as with other gaiters, while the underfoot stirrup can be easily adjusted thanks to the pair of buckles (and if it should break or wear out the stirrup is also easily replaced).
Material 3-layer Gore-Tex; Cordura ankle
Sizes S/M, L/XL
Weight 329g (L/XL)
Closure zip, Velcro, press stud
The Extremities Nova Gaiter is a good option for those who prefer a front zipped closure, but the longer length and top press stud at the knee make this unlikely to be the most comfortable option.
