The manufacturer of this headtorch claims a 75m beam of light, and there are three power settings to lengthen battery life. The beam is quite narrow, making it good for picking out distant objects, while a flash setting is useful in case of emergency. You can add a red filter to prevent loss of natural night vision, and you also get a transparent filter to create a wide-angle beam. With a 50 hour battery life there should be plenty of power for a night or two away. Ideal if you want a lot of power for short periods. But the price tag will naturally reduce appeal, and this may not be quite as robust as some other headtorches. Also there is no top-of-head strap for extra security. The battery is very heavy, making the combined weight 463g. Annoyingly for a headtorch that requires recharging, there is no ‘power remaining’ indicator.

Verdict A strong narrow beam and good battery life, but heavy and pricy compared with some options and best suited to one night at a time.
