Walking the Cleveland Way

You dont mention mush about the hills you climb. Probably the most intresting but of the first half of the CW.

The Cleveland Way was my first Long Distance Path and I love the different conditions and scenery along the way. Wild camping is possible if you arrive late, leave early, talk to any locals you see first and do not leave a mess! Here's where I stayed en-route starting from Helmsley. White Gill Head SE 490 929 Wain Stones NZ 555 034 Roseberry Topping is near my sister so stayed there! Saltburn Caravan site does not accept campers so I walked on to..... Warsett Hill NZ 698 213 (next to railway so bad night sleep! Thought it was disused but had reopened when I went there....) Runswick Bay Campsite NZ 805 162. Friendly and cheap site with pub round the corner. Robin Hoods Bay. I stayed at Boggle Hole YHA due to late arrival after enjoying fish and chips in Whitby too much! You could camp on nearby clifftop fields. Scarborough YHA was due to a HUGE blister on my sole needing a good cleanup. Plenty of official sites inc one at Scalby, didn['t see much chance for wildcamping due to many houses. North Cliff Country Park at Filey was awful. Cigarette littered and overused pitch near smelly bins do not commend this spot. Sign the LogBook in the cafe, have a shower and go into town for food and a hotel bed or the train home! I’m hopping to do the Cleveland way in the next week or two. Can you recommend any good wild camping/camping areas?
