When it comes to Slovenia, the Julian Alps is what springs to the minds of most walkers.
But step away from the north west and you'll see an entire nation of forests, steep sided valleys and seclusion.
Here's a nice example. Outdoors writer Christine Ottery takes us on a trip up Slivnica Hill in Inner Carniola, in the south west of the country.
