Trail is looking for people who want to share their walking adventures with other readers by contributing to the Readers Adventures back page of the magazine.
“We’ve had some great features over the past few months,” says Trail editor Matt Swaine. “Pieces on the Aonach Eagach, Ben Nevis, fell running in the Yorkshire Three Peaks and walking all of the Lakes 3000ft peaks. They’ve all made for great reading and we want to cast the net wider and get more people involved.”
Trail has been working hard to give readers more ways to contribute to the magazine by getting readers signed up to review gear in the magazine and by getting more people out on the hill to take part in features. “This is a natural progression,” says Matt. “We want to give people more control over these kinds of features and let them share their hill-walking with other people.”
The editorial team are looking for features around 450 words long that come with a selection of good snaps on the hill. The feature can be based anywhere but they need to have a good Trail theme. “You can be telling people about your favourite walk, your first Munro, a night out in a bothy, your first experience of leading on the hill or a challenge walk that you’ve taken part in,” says Matt. “The piece should be engaging and exciting and ideally inspire other readers to follow in your footsteps.”
