All those planning a trip to the hills this weekend need to take extra care.

More heavy rain is expected over the next few days over the Lake District, western Scotland and north Wales.

These regions have already badly hit by rain and the ground is already saturated so this next wave of torrential rain coupled with strong winds could make conditions treacherous.

The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings and the situation looks to be particularly bad in Cumbria.
