Two climbers are repeating the feat of legendary mountaineers Jimmy Marshall and Robin Smith.

In 1960 Marshall and Smith climbed six first winter ascents up Ben Nevis, including the mini Alpine-route Orion Face Direct (V5) and Point Five Gully (V5).

Now, exactly 50 years on, climbers Dave MacLeod and Andy Turner will attempt exactly the same feat.

And with barely enough time to remove their crampons the two will talk about their own experiences compared to that of Marshall and Smith at the Fort William Mountain Festival.

MacLeod and Turner will attempt the challenge on the 6th-13th Feb and will present it with video footage on the 14th.

The festival takes place on 11th-15th Feb and will also feature a talk by top climber Andy Kirkpatrick and an official opening ceilidh on Aonach Mor among the feast of films, lectures and workshops.
