Twelve months ago businessman Alan Clayton realised it’s a nightmare for your average Londoner to go hill walking in Scotland.
Alan, who lived in the big city, decided to take up hill walking to knock himself into shape.

But he was frustrated by the difficulties he faced – finding a cheap car to hire, the distance, a lack of hotel rooms and the lack of time to arrange all these things and live the dream. |
When he finally got to the Highlands he realised he wasn’t the only one who’d had problems: “I saw lots of people like me – slightly overweight businessmen and women with dreams of being mountaineers but having great difficulty achieving it,” he said.
So he decided to set up Dreambrokers, featuring mountaineering courses in the Scottish Highlands where everything is arranged for you.
“If you need a car hire we’ll sort it for you, if you’d prefer to fly to Inverness we’ll arrange the flights and drive you to the hotel,” said Alan.

“Our hotel is called The Inch and is situated on the banks of Loch Ness. I’m nearly 40 and don’t want to sleep in bunk beds anymore – this gives you individual rooms, a great bar and lovely open fire.” |

The current course, run by mountain leader and Dreambrokers co-director Alex Brooks-Johnson, lasts for three days.
The first day is a winter skills course, on the second day you can bag a non-technical Munro and the third day you’ll go for one of the famous Munros. |
The course is £480 and includes instruction, equipment, transfers, travel to and from the mountains, food and accommodation.
