If you are keen to know what it takes to lead other hill-walkers through the mountains, this new blog is for you. Trail’s Claire Maxted is off to a Mountain Leader (ML) training course in Scotland with Stuart Johnson Mountaineering (www.climbmts.co.uk) next week and she’s so excited about it she’s going to keep as many people as possible posted via her blog.
Follow her progress, learn key ML skills and get advice and experience stories from other Trail reading MLs on her blog (http://clairemlt.blogspot.com) as she learns the navigation, group management, emergency, rope and environmental skills you need to lead people safely through the mountains.
This week it’s all about what the scary and fun parts might be. Upcoming, there will be interviews with renowned Mountain Instructor Stuart Johnston, the other ML trainees, stories about the training, followed by the logging of 20+ Quality Mountain Days before the assessment.
Whether you want to be a mountain leader or just increase your navigation and group management skills, this blog will have advice for you.
