Just a reminder that one of the main gateways to the Yorkshire Dales is currently closed while engineers try to sort out ongoing landslip problems.
The A59 will be shut at Blubberhouses (that nice bit through the hills between Harrogate and Skipton) until Sunday, 10th July. A lengthy diversion is in place taking you south via Otley and Ilkley on the A658 and A65.
It’ll probably add about 45 minutes to a typical journey to the Dales from the A1, so if you're coming up the A1 from the south, you can short-circuit the problem by turning off at Wetherby and following the A659 to Otley instead.
