There's a huge strand in our forum at the moment on the subject of litter - and if this subject winds you up as much as it does us, we've got a great way to help turn the tide.
LFTO, along with Country Walking and Trail, are supporting the 'Stop the Drop' project being run by the Campaign to Protect Rural England. Spearheading it is writer and friend of LFTO Bill Bryson, who explains his hatred for litter in the May issue of Country Walking, out now.
To help him, we've lined up some great prizes to encourage you to do a spot of wombling on your next walk: two superb walking gear outfits (each worth about £450), where all the kit is made from Polartec's new recycled fabrics.
To enter the competition (and clean up the countryside), all you need to do is:
a) Pick up the litter you see on one mile of a walk.
b) Take a photograph of the litter.
c) Dispose of the litter.
d) Upload your photograph to the Litter Competition folder in LFTO's gallery here.
e) Add where you picked up the litter and your name.
You can enter as many times as you like. The competition closes on June 30th.
We're doing this on all the walks we go out on at the mo - will you join in and help too?
