Subscribers to Trail and Country Walking can now get access to 1000s of walks simply by clicking on the ROUTES tab at the top of this screen.
With over 1500 routes already online and more set to go up each month, there has never been a better time to subscribe to one of the two magazines.
“We’ve put this service together with Quo Mapping and it’s a brilliant resource whether you want mountain routes in Scotland, scrambles in Wales, coast walks in the South West or gentle day routes in the Peaks,” explains Trail editor Matt Swaine. “Subscribers can access the full database and download PDFs and GPX files to run on their GPS unit.”
We have to pay the Ordnance Survey for each download, so in order to keep this a free service, subscribers will be limited to 25 downloads of PDF and GPX files per year, but they can access as many routes as they like onscreen.
“To make the most of this service use the database as a resource to search for great routes but only download the PDF and GPX files of those routes you’re planning to walk,” explains Matt. “When you’ve used up all your credits you will still be able to search the data base and view route information on the screen.”
Non-subscribers can also search through the database but the information they can access is limited to a route outline. And that means there has been a better time to subscriber to either Trail or Country Walking.
