If you’re planning on conquering one of Britain’s Three Peaks this weekend, keep your eyes open for a celebrity walking party.
BBC presenter Kate Silverton, Olympic champion Sir Steve Redgrave, Sir Clive Woodward who masterminded England’s rugby world cup win, businessman Sir Richard Branson, explorer Al Humphreys and mountaineer Andy Kirkpatrick will all be tackling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 72 hours to raise money for Sport Relief, starting today.
They are joining Major Phil Packer, who since his rehabilitation from a major spinal cord injury while on operational duty in 2008 has rowed the Channel, walked the London Marathon in 14 days and hauled himself up El Capitan with help from a team of climbers.
Outdoor clothing brand Berghaus is an official sponsor of Sport Relief (part of Comic Relief), and has provided kit for Major Phil and Kate Silverton.
