Just in case you need an excuse to head to the Lakes next month, check out Ambleside’s new outdoor adventure festival. Four days packed with activities from climbing and paraponting to mountain biking and open water swims.
Events planned at the festival, which will be held from the 16th – 19th September, include; gorge scrambling, guided walks, canoe and kayak instruction, adventure lectures, paddle boarding, revolving climbing walls and abseiling.
Competitions held over the long weekend consist of; body boarding competition, fell races, uphill road bike time trial, hill climb trial, entry level bike rides and more.
Festival goers will also have the chance to take part in this years Ambleside mountain run. Starting in the heart of the village the race heads to the summit of Red Screes, before descending steeply to finish back in Ambleside’s centre.
With plenty of places to stay (or camp), evening adventure films and art and photography exhibitions this action packed festival is perfect for the whole family.
