New Rab Drillium and Vapour Rise Light

Rab’s new Drillium jacket is now 20g lighter at 360g (Men’s size L) but the price has been kept at £160. This men’s and women’s waterproof is a general purpose all-rounder for hill-walkers now has an updated, neater roll away hood (not helmet-compatible), roomier shoulders, a matt fabric finish and keeps its 2 easy–access pockets.

Exciting news for fans of Rab’s Vapour Rise range of softshell-style garments. This classic collection has a newcomer in the form of the Vapour Rise Light, a lightweight version of the classic Vapour Rise jacket. It features a lighter equilibrium fabric on the outer with a tighter weave to increase wind resistance, plus a lighter inner fabric made of Polartec PowerDry rather than the original, warmer Micro Pile fabric. Rab’s Neil McAddie says, “The Vapour Rise Light is a lightweight softshell for walking, trekking, scrambling, mountaineering and faster moving activities with spring, summer and autumn temperatures in mind. At the moment it’s only available in Men’s. But from spring 2010 there will be a jacket available for women."
