Therm-a-Rest launches ultra-light airbed

The NeoAir is an incredible new mattress from Therm-a-Rest which packs down to drinks-bottle size while giving a plush night's sleep foam mats can only dream of. (Reporting from Friedrichshafen in Germany at the 2008 OutDoor show.)

Available in all the usual Therm-a-Rest lengths and costing from 75 pounds to 115, the NeoAir weighs around 370g and manages to retain fairly good insulating properties even with no filling thanks to a special heat-reflective material. Even so, it's not for expeditions to cold places, rating only 2.5 out a possible 8 on the firm's own insulation scale. To see one is to want one however, as its amazing comfort and tiny size and weight scarcely seem believable.
