Marmot have developed a 3-season tent specifically aimed at the UK and European backpacking market.
The two-man Grid tent features a tough flysheet made from 30D ripstop nylon, coated with silicone on the outside and Polyurethane on the inside for strength and waterproofing, as well as DAC Featherlight poles to keep the weight down to 2.5kg.
It can be pitched flysheet-first or all as one.
Wet and windy
Dave Housley, Equipment Buyer for Cotswold Outdoor, says: “The Marmot Grid is an ideal backpacking model because it combines good stability, good ventilation and ease of pitching in a simple, robust design, and has enough room to keep two users comfortable. It not only performs, but is also very good value.”
Watch out for an LFTO review soon. In the meantime, our gear guru Graham Thompson tells us: “It is great to see a brand from the US realising that Brits live in a country that is wet and windy and that they require different tent designs to those living in the more predictable weather across the pond.”
The Marmot Grid is exclusively available from Cotswold Outdoor now, and costs £250. Click here to see it at Cotswold's website or call 0844 557 7755.
