New Petzl head torch "the best yet"

A new Petzl Myo XP head torch is to hit the gear shops at the start of February.

Petzl say that the latest model, distinguishable from the old blue one by its black colour, gives a light that is three times brighter than before.

The beam also projects 32m further, and the maximum burn time has been extended by 10 hours. Not bad, considering the price has gone up by a piddling £2 to £55.

Lighten the load

Meanwhile, the new version of the £65 Myo XP Belt, which works to reduce the weight carried on the head, features all the same improvements, but without any price change.
