Ever daydreamed your way along your favourite hike while stuck in the office? Now you can walk it – well, not for real, exactly, but in a way that’s more so than ever before.

Realbuzz.com have launched a global path-finding tool, similar to Memory Map, that allows you to create an avatar to search existing real world routes or create your own, complete with distances, maps and satellite images.

The idea is for “Map Your Passion” to provide a social network for walkers, allowing them to share images and videos to promote their favourite walks. Routes can also be loaded onto GPS phones, Satnavs or PDAs.

Fiona Gibbons, the company’s marketing director, said, “It’s all about giving our users freedom to plan their routes and get out from behind their desks. It really is a true lifestyle planning tool!”
