Coleman Bedrock

Coleman Bedrock £70

Coleman are best-known for their family tents but they also make a range of low-priced backpacking tents that prove you don’t need to spend a fortune to be able to enjoy camping. BEST VALUE

Gelert Mongoose

Gelert Mongoose £50

It might be good enough for the forces, but is it good enough for a hill-walker... Click here for full review and star rating

Robens Summer Wind

How much shelter do you need? Maybe a simple single-skin tent is enough? Use your trekking poles to hold the shelter up, and you get acres of space inside plus plenty of mesh vents to allow good airflow without letting the bugs in. Well, that is exactly what the Robens Summer Wind... Click here for full review and star rating

BEST IN TEST

Vango Spectre

Vango Spectre 200 £90

The Vango Spectre 200 2-person tent is designed to be a minimalist shelter with a minimalist weight and minimalist price – without compromising on quality. The result is a very respectable feature set that includes metal alloy poles, rather than the fibreglass poles that are... Click here for full review and star rating
