RE: Gear Blog Video: Meindl Boot Air Revolution Lite
I bought a pair of these Air Revolution last month and took them to North Wales to Tryfan and then a jaunt up Snowdon .I will get the best bit over with first as its the quickest bit! Yes, they are indeed waterproof.Walking through marsh, and they didnt let a drop in. Also, if you were unfortunate enough to step onto a land-mine, you wouldnt notice, such is the robust construction of the sole. And for me, there is the problem. These boots are like Teflon coated skateboards, and had me slipping and sliding all over the place, and even making the relatively sedate walk up the Miners, and down the Pyg track very uneasy. I had to hang on wherever I could as going over on my backside was always a threat. Even today on dry Tarmac I swivelled round on the soles that would have made ballet shoes seem grippy.I started to wonder if the guys in the Meindl design dept actually have feet! The width of the footprint feels too narrow and gives the ankles a hard time too. No apologies for the moan here, but I feel I have wasted £160 on a product that promised alot and delivered nothing but disappointment. You dont always get what you pay for.
