South Downs gets ViewRanger mapping
With the South Downs now confirmed as Britain’s next National Park, digital mapping folks, Augmentra, have added the region to its ViewRanger GB National Parks Explorer series. The ViewRanger software, which brings OS 1:25000 mapping straight to your mobile phone, works with the phone’s GPS antennae to pinpoint an exact location on the map. It’s so simple even the worst navigator couldn’t get lost…. Even better, you don’t need to carry a GPS receiver as well as your phone into hills. It requires a Symbian S60 compatible phone such as the new Nokia or Samsung Smart Phones and costs £58.72 per National Park.
