Marmot’s lightest waterproof yet
A sneak preview from Marmot, their brand new, lightest ever waterproof for women has just been launched. The Crystalline jacket weighs just 172g (women’s size M). It won an Outdoor Industry Award at the Outdoor Show in Friedrichshafen last year and for £90 you get a whisper-thin feeling jacket made waterproof using Marmot’s own brand MemBrain Strata. One up on regular MemBrain, their previous 2-layer laminate with a separate lining, this is a 2.5 laminate layer that uses micro-particles and a print pattern on the inside to avoid clamminess and increase durability and breathability.
We got our hands on the only sample and took it to the Peak District last weekend…check tomorrow's gear blog to see how Trail gear tester Claire Maxted rated it.
The jacket has taped seams for full waterproofness, adjustable Velcro cuffs, an attached, adjustable hood secured with a Velcro tab, an elastic draw cord hem, side zip hand pockets, a water resistant front zipper and is sized specifically for women.
