New Mammut shoes
Although Mammut are claiming that the £80 Obelisk DLX shoes would be perfect for Spiderman, we reckon they’ll be pretty darn good for scrambling and easy climbing too – especially in summer when it always seems overkill to walk-in in a pair of boots, that then need carrying up the route. They’re basically an approach shoe with a Dri-Lex waterproof liner, that come furnished with a sticky rubber rand and some slick patches on the sole for edging and smearing. We can’t wait to try them. Watch out for coverage in Trail magazine's May09 issue (in shops 23rd April) and a video here on the website soon after.

And while we're talking about Mammut...
Raichle boots have been taken over by Mammut, so any Raichle boots will now have the brand name of Mammut plus a small rectangle on the side saying "Raichle technology." The boots will still feature the same technology, with the same names at the same prices, but now under the banner of Mammut.

We reported on this changeover previously, see the story here.
