Great news for backpackers this summer. Well-established outdoor brand Berghaus will break into the backpacking market this June with a range of five tents and three sleeping bags.
These products are only being sold through Blacks, Millets and Berghaus’ two flagship stores.
Tents
The tents range from 2-6 person and backpacking-wise, they start at £120 for the two-person dome tent, the Peak 2.1, then £130 for the two-person Snowdonia 2.1 tunnel tent. Trail’s technical editor Graham Thompson is about to get his hands on the first sample of the Snowdonia 2.1 for a review in the magazine as soon as he is able.
Sleeping bags
The sleeping bag range is made up of 1-2 season and 4-season synthetic bags and a 3-season down bag. The 1-2 season Flare 850 is a rectangular style synthetic bag for warmer night’s camping and priced £60. The Flare 1600 is a 1.6kg 4-season synthetic bag with Honeycomb Engineered Advanced Thermals (HEAT) technology to increase its efficiency and will cost £100. Lastly, the Flame 600 (£140), is your 3-season goose down bag with a 600 fill power that weighs 1.3kg.
