Sportswear firm Accapi has developed clothing that emits far-infrared rays (FIR) while you're wearing it.

FIR are invisible rays of light and Accapi says its new Nexus range that features FIR can, among other things, increase your blood flow, increase oxygenation and accelerate recovery and rehabilitation.

Scientific research does seem to indicate improved blood flow can be achieved by FIR.

There's also evidence to show that it has an anti-inflammatory effect as well as a good effect on oxygen concentration and blood pressure.

But it's not yet clear with the Accapi product whether this is due to the FIR or another factor.

Graham Thompson, Trail’s Technical Editor, is trialling an Accapi Knee Guard, which he hopes will improve a knee strain injury he has at the present time.

However, any improvement in the knee injury may be because the knee bandage is applying compression and a warming effect that is known to increase circulation and improve such injuries.
