Class ridge walk in a beautiful country, by amills007

Recently convinced 6 work mates to join me on this classic route on my home turf. Enjoyed by all and even had a few burley fire fighters' knees knocking on the scramble below the ridge!! Pen Y Fan

The hidden gem route! By allan davies

There are numerous ways up this mountain,but to get a real feel for the whole range, start from the Blaen Y Glyn waterfall car park near Talybont reservoir. The start up to Craig Y Fan Ddu ridge is a bit of an effort, but once up, follow the Beacons Way to Fan Y Big (719m), down the valley and up to Cribyn (795m) then the final steep push up to Pen Y Fan! Amazing views of the whole Beacons range. From here, either retrace your steps, or carry on to Corn Ddu (873m) and down the path to Storey Arms car park. Eel Crag

Get up here on a clear day and enjoy one of the best views I've seen...total panaramic view. Scotland, Blencathra, Helvellyn, Langdales, Scafells, Isle of Man....everything is here to see. Click here for the full hill review and star rating

Tryfan

Awesome by stevecaine

Went up the north face on a very rainy day - what an experience! Lots of climbs and scrambles but be warned - can get very slippy underfoot when wet. Dont be put off though, this mountain is awesome! Ysgyryd Fawr

A hidden gem, by allan davies

A very unusual walk this, as it doesnt link up to any other peaks, but well worth a look. The initial climb up through the forestry is a bit steep for beginners, but the path is easy to follow, just keep heading straight up and you can't go wrong. But, beware, as the path can be very muddy and slippy on a wet autumnal morning, as I found out!! Once on the top, it is an easy stretch over to trig point, with amazing 360-degree views over the Black mountains, Brecon Beacons, Monmouth and Herfordshire. Pavey Ark

I love the Langdales by FRASER SMITH

I love Pavey ark. It stands alongside with Harrison Stickle as such a fantastic focal point as you head towards Ambleside from Windemere. If Napes Needle wasn't the Lake District's logo then these two silhouettes should be. They announce the Langdales to all who see them, not only from the road but from up in the hills. No matter where you are, their outline can be spotted and identified immediately. Pavey is a fantastic piece of rock standing proud above Stickle Tarn, you can make your way around the back to ascend it, though this can be a drag. Or you can enjoy the wonderful 'Jakes Rake'. An interesting scramble/climb across the face of Pavey. Feeling wonderfully exposed and open and with one of the best picnic spots in the lakes (little grass patch half way up), this is without doubt the best way to ascend Pavey Ark.
