Scrambling is ideal for those of you who like to get your hands dirty when out in the hills.
And Britain is full of great scrambles if you know where to look.
Below are five routes that all feature scrambling to a certain degree - some of them grade one scrambling, others much harder.
You must always have the appropriate equipment when attempting these routes because they are tough and potentially dangerous.
And at this time of year they turn into winter climbs and you'll need winter climbing experience to attempt any of them until the weather warms up again.
But if approached properly these climbs are all very rewarding and great fun...
THE LAKE DISTRICT - The Langdales
