The fantastic Black Sheep Boots & Beer Walking Festival kicks off in Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales this weekend (Friday to Sunday), so come along for 48 hours of fantastic walks ranging from short strolls beside Aysgarth Falls to challenging treks across Great Shunner Fell and the Cam High Road.
The Country Walking team will be on hand helping out with walks and drinking a fair amount of Black Sheep Ale, while Trail magazine's hero Alan Hinkes will be the star guest on Saturday night. As the first Briton to climb all 14 of the world's highest mountains (each over 8,000ft high) Alan's got an incredible story to tell in his inimitable style – hear him lift the lid on surviving an avalanche and frequently being the highest Yorkshireman on the face of the earth. And at times the highest human of them all!
Throw in 14 fantastic walks for every ability (created by Inn Way author and Country Walking contributor Mark Reid) and quiz night, ceilidh and lots of beer (did we mention that?) and it's the best ticket you'll find this weekend.
