The Barmouth Walking Festival is an event organised by Barmouth Publicity Association to take advantage of the fabulous walks and dramatic landscape accessible from Barmouth, on the west coast of Wales.

Taking place in September every year, the Festival aims to encourage visitors to explore the varied beauty of the Mawddach Estuary & Southern Snowdonia.

Something for everybody with 30 walks for all abilities, from shorter nature rambles to full day, high level hikes led by experienced, knowledgeable local volunteers. Three walks are offered each day (2 on Monday 24th) allowing walkers to choose the degree of difficulty and varied terrain.

From Cnicht – The Welsh Matterhorn, to Goldmines, places of historical & archaeological interest and stunning waterfalls there is something for everyone. We even have an introduction to the Global “Treasure Hunting” phenomenon Geocaching, a great way to get the Kids excited about the great outdoors or a “go anywhere” hobby for anyone
