... And see if you can match them!

We've searched Bovril's website and found some really good entries from people wanting to use part of the huge pot of £100,000 to revive our countryside.

Bovril wants you to nominate the outdoor spot you think could do with a makeover.

The £100K will be split five ways to the projects that most deserve the cash.

RENOVATION OF FOOTPATH FROM URGHA TO MAARUIG, ISLE OF HARRIS
TARBERT, SCOTLAND

The beautiful Isle of Harris by David MaclennanThis very scenic path was part of the original road to Stornoway.  It runs beside the Laxdale Lochs and then climbs to Maaruig.  It is a popular Sunday afternoon walk for locals, and one many visitors of all ages take it in the summer. It can be undertaken as part of the longer triangular route to Rhenigidale.  Unfortunately it has got very boggy and needs drainage and hardcore to make it good. We are a very small population and available funding has to be stertched over many projects. I that hope you will consider this project one worthy of your choice.

Erosion at Walton-on-the-Naze by BoltondaveTHE NAZE! HELP REPAIR FOOTPATHS ON THE NAZE – AND AREA UNIQUE NATURAL AREA IN NORTH EAST ESSEX
WALTON-ON-THE-NAZE, EAST OF ENGLAND
The Naze is a headland on the east coast of England. It is on the coast of Essex just north of Blackwater and projects into the North Sea.
It is important for migrating birds and has a small nature reserve. The dense scrub of hawthorn, gorse and brambles provides cover for numerous animal species and acts as an important landfall for migrating birds, including the occasional rare vagrants.
The 70 ft high cliffs rising to the south are rich in fossils and unique to the Essex coastline, however the area suffers greatly from coastal erosion and currently disappearing into the sea at a rate of 2 –metres a year.
Many local people and businesses are keen to see the Naze area returned to its former glory.
The Naze is very popular with ramblers, walkers, picnickers, families, birdwatchers, fossil-hunters and many more, however with the rate of erosion, some of the paths have already been washed into the sea.
It would be great to get some help to repair some of the paths to allow more people to safely benefit from the area of outstand natural beauty.

Think you can do better?

Simply pick-up a promotional jar of Bovril between October 2009 and February 2010 then visit Bovril's website and enter your details and the reason why your project deserves the cash.

Then it’s just a matter of drumming up enough support to ensure it makes it into the top 100 and on to the judging shortlist.

Remember that the project you pick should benefit as wide an area of the community as possible and should be a revival rather than creating a new project from scratch.

Photos of your nomination are welcome to help with the judging process.

Bovril’s expert judging panel, headed by a celebrity judge, will then choose the most worthy projects and announce the first three projects in January 2010. Another two ‘judges’ choices’ will then be selected in March 2010.
